Loving Luxury In Barbados Posh Property with Celia Sawyer
Returning to the Colony Club in Barbados is always a real treat! Welcomed by a Rum Punch and a great, attentive greeting, I was very happy to be back!
I was shown my room, which was a modern, spacious room, with a small outdoor relaxing area and a table and chairs, perfect for some downtime if you are seeking an hour of privacy, and perfect if you want to eat right outside your room. All of the 96 guest rooms and suites are excellent and I made sure that I viewed them all on my last stay! The lush, seven acres of tropical gardens are well kept and give you a lovely vista whichever room category you should choose. To have the garden view is certainly not a disappointment
I have 2 children who love the fact that the water sports are on tap, and that they have an array of choices from sailing through to Ringos! Even better that they are complimentary for the duration of your stay.
The pool areas are spacious so that you do not feel like you are on top of everyone, and the lovely swim up bar a favourite of mine, is great for socialising.
There is a spa, tennis courts and a fitness centre, of which I used every day and an
appeal towards not only your average Barbados visitor looking for a great hotel and families, but to those who enjoy healthy eating, unique health conscious amenities and togetherness,
Because the hotel is relaxed and sociable, I met many nice, interesting people here without having to go outside. In fact the point is that you don’t need to go out of the hotel. The Laguna Restaurant which enjoys a striking open air setting with superb views over the hotel’s tropical gardens, aquamarine pools and ocean beyond, has been recently renovated, serving breakfast with organic teas, juicing and healthy dining choices. Menus are tailored for local cuisine and seasonally inspired meals.
My favourite place for lunch is still the Sunset Bar and Deck where you can sit under the shade of the umbrella and really enjoy the sea breeze and the view.
The hotel also offers complimentary bespoke tours and activities, for those who wish to see some more of the Island, , a complimentary water taxi for transportation between the Elegant hotels other West Coast
The hotel even has a well kitted out library (nice and cool) with board games, so there really is something for everyone at the Colony Club.
I shall return again soon for another relaxing stay at this lovely hotel, it is certainly one of my favourites!
